Valkoturkki

I'm not going to create any more silver jewelry.

Having small kid and cat(s) in house quite effectively works against my attempts to work with tiny silver things and fire. Therefore I have decided to put my artistic efforts to other areas.

I've recently started to take some photos - only family album quality so far. I also started to play guitar. I've never played it before so there is a lot to learn.

However, I might post some doodles now and then and occasional photo or two.

Yup. Yesterday.

It was wonderful to see family and friends. It was about fifty guests and nothing too fancy. More like an half formal summer party.

When you are stuck somewhere and you find time in your hands but nothing to do, what crosses your mind? You could be riding a bus, sitting in a bathroom, or just standing on the street corner waiting for your friend. You look around and your mind starts to wander.

I think there are just few ways how you can focus your thoughts. You can search for a Zen like state. You'll be one with the world and free from any thoughts. No fears, ideas, or anything. Perhaps you are like a rat in a maze. You'll be afraid of tomorrow and fed up with your every day life. All those things you are responsible for are burdening you. Day after day you are surprised at the length of list of things 'to do'. One possibility to spend your time is dreaming of tomorrow. You are planning ahead at full speed and eager to face the music. Perhaps your mind wanders like mine. When you sit down and look at the tiles on the wall, you can see faces, jumping dolphins, or abstract formations playing with each other.

I have chosen to watch those happy faces popping out from bathroom tiles for fun. I have to say I love it and it is really amusing. Do you look forward to the moment when your mind starts to wander?  If you don't, should you do something about it?

I'm drawing again this 100 picture challenge. Doing something else than my regular work lets my brains relax. Because I am not satisfied to all results, some pictures are submitted to scraps.

The point of this challenge is to test and improve your skill as an artist. After 100 pics who wouldn’t be better. Please forgive me if this in any way excludes you from taking the challenge.

The rules

2.) No time limit so have fun

3.) The main picture should be drawn but not limited to. for all fair purposes, people are allowed to use their paint programs and photo shop to create the pic.

3a.) pics should be of own artistic ability. You may not edit photos, or break any other rules set out in the Da etiquette policy. Your pics can be anything from sketches and doodles to great master pieces. Just have fun with it.

4.) The list below is to be placed somewhere in your journal for others to see that......

One sentence is stuck in my head: Why don't you live as you dream?

I know it is from Neverending Story, but I guess the cold got stuck it in my head. Actually I've been thinking this few moments now.

Why don't people usually want to live their dreams?

Answer is simple, they don't have any. People are simple, they believe commercials, tales, social standards, and in general try to live out someone else's dream.

What about the rest of us? Fear of change is one big thing. It is easier to dream on vacation at Bahama and feel bad about it than actually do anything. People fear change even if it is a good thing. I some cases I do that too. It is good to have some constants in life, but not those which bring misery.

My excuse to avoid my goals is lack of them. Even when I find some goals for some reason I find excuses to not spend time achieving them. That is silly, because reaching those goals makes me happy. I guess I've just been miserable so long that I can't live without it.
